Well that was fun, eh? Always nice to have a high scoring week, even if everyone else is also scoring highly.
A captain success; midfielders and strikers that returned big; and plenty of bonus points led to a score of 88 (-4) and a GW rank of 306k. It’s my highest score of the season, although only the second best GW rank due to the high scores all round.
It gave me a decent green though and I moved up 276k places to 712k overall, my best rank of the season. That’s 450k places gained in the last two weeks, and with (currently) no injuries or suspensions, this is the best position my squad has been in and finally I have some momentum and confidence. As we all know though, that could change again very quickly!
I’m sure this will change once the inevitable rotation and injuries kick in over the coming days, but at the moment I’m actually quite excited about the coming game weeks. Or is just because it’s Christmas? Who knows.
My transfers changed a bit this week from my early thoughts. I was looking possibly at Zaha, and also KDB, but then Morata went and got himself suspended and I had a rethink. I thought about holding him as he’ll likely now play the two games in 20 and 21, but I didn’t really want £10.5m sat on the bench, and while Chelsea aren’t scoring loads it seemed a lot to have both him and Hazard.
As I mentioned in the GW18 review, been crazy busy lately, so haven’t been able to get these done, but wanted to get this out for the GW19 games. I’ll try to do one for GW20 but not sure if it’ll be possible, being Christmas day and all that…
As I mentioned previously, the formula has been updated so it now only includes the previous 8 games for all clubs, rather than the entire season. This makes it more relevant and form-based, and removes any early season anomalies.
