I was thinking a couple of days ago that it’s been quite a nice international break for once. It was nice to switch off, not really worry about FPL, and refresh.
Well I’m glad I did refresh and recharge the batteries, because when I did look at my team it was a bloody minefield! More flags than an Olympics opening ceremony.
Jones – out. Atsu – out. Sterling – doubtful. Aguero – doubtful. RLC – doubtful. Plus Davies who is a constant rotation risk and Mbemba who is a non-playing third sub. It didn’t make for pleasant viewing!
After a fair bit of thinking I actually went ahead with my originally planned transfers, which was Davies to Mee and Atsu to Richarlison for a hit. I’ve just seen that Davies is starting today, but that’s fine, I knew that could happen. If I had the money I maybe would’ve just made the move for Richarlison, but I needed the funds from Davies, plus getting a Burnley defender in was a good move.
I considered fixing the Mbemba problem instead of getting the Watford man in, which would’ve meant Dunk/Duffy coming in alongside Mee, but that meant I couldn’t afford Richarlison in the coming weeks. I considered looking at Choupo-Moting instead, but even that option didn’t improve my situation this GW, and ultimately I wanted Richarlison.
I also considered doing Aguero-Lukaku, given the Newcastle fixture for the latter, and the probably resting for the former, but that left 0 available subs and would’ve been too much of a luxury transfer when there were problems to fix. I’ll just have to hope that Lukaku doesn’t go big.
I thought about Aguero, considered Salah, but ended up on Kane. I think Aguero is likely to be benched, Southampton will make it difficult for Liverpool, and Kane loves a NLD, so it’s on him again.
It’s about time he delivered for me.
